School closed.

This doesn't happen very often at a post-secondary level.  I work at a technical college here in town and usually on Wednesdays I start my day at 10:30 a.m.  Imagine my surprise when I woke up to a voice message from a fellow co-worker telling me that school is closed!! So now I'm sitting here blogging.  What I really should be doing is laundry, dishes and some organizations, but hey.. the day is still young!

I've had this song on my mind all week.  Ever since I heard it on L's Pandora list.  You know those songs you hear.. at first your feel indifferent to them, but somehow when you are listening, actually listening to the song.. it resonates within you.  That's what happen to me with this song.  I've heard it plenty of times before, but last week when I was alone at work in L's office, this song came on while I was working and it just stuck with me.
Has that every happen to anyone else?

And for all you Twilight fans out there, I realize now that it's the song that plays when Edward and Bella are at the prom at the end of the first movie, but I'm not a fan so it just took me a while to get there. :)

I enjoy spending time with J.  He's pretty much my favorite person.  We've been so busy these last few weeks that our nightly tradition as gone out the window.  So when he asked last night, "What's on the agenda?"  I replied with, "How about a classic JP night?"  Perhaps I should have said, "You know.. the usual."  But I thought I was being clever.  JP night has a nice ring to it.  Basically it's just us, eating dinner in our den with one of our beloved TV on DVD shows.  It's something that we've just done through the years.

Like some people, we started eating at the dining room table, but since our dining room table sits 6 people comfortably, it was a bit odd to have just the two of us sitting at a HUGE table by ourselves.  So we started introducing the TV as background noise and now after years of doing this, this tradition as evolved to us in our den, eating and watching our shows.

I know that other people might frown upon us eating in front of our TV, but it works for us.  And most importantly.. we enjoy it! We talk during the shows, but the beauty of TV on DVD is the pause option so we never miss anything.

What does your dinner times look like?

TV Shows

So I'm basically obsessed with TV on DVD.  I can't wait until the 6th season of Supernatural comes out on DVD.  I'm completely impatient when it comes to watching TV shows weekly.  I want to know NOW, not 7 days from now.

Like for instance, this past summer J and I spent the whole summer watching the entire series of LOST.  Yep.  The entire season.  I like to refer to that summer as LOST: In the Basement.  The show was incredibly addicting and I find it hard to believe that sooo many people watch the show when it was originally aired.

Some other TV shows (current and off the air) that I'm addicted are listed as follows (in no particular order):

Bones
How I Met Your Mother
Supernatural (did I mention this one yet??)
Dollhouse
Buffy
Angel
Weeds
Roswell
Heroes
Scrubs
Drop Dead Diva
Veronica Mars
Ugly Betty
... just to name a few...

Do you have any favorite TV on DVD? And if so... please do tell.
